Miller Spectrum 125C
This is the very first model from the Miller plasma cutter range and ever since it came out on the market, it has received many good praise. The Spectrum 125C series is suitable for light industrial or home use where cut thickness is not a major issue.
This cutter is best used for light metal sheet applications, HVAC, plumbing and auto body repair. It uses air plasma cutting technology and offers 12 amp consistent cutting arc for continuous cutting up to 3/16 inch or 41mm in steel.
If you are looking for a simple unit to satisfy some hobby needs, then this handheld unit may be enough as it does simple cuts of gauge metals really well once started up properly. You do however required some really smooth hand movements to cut craft works because it doesn’t come with any mechanized options, so certainly won’t allow you to program any designs.

What do we think?
Not the most powerful machine obviously but does the trick with thin metals, especially aluminium with 1/8 or 1/16 inch thickness. Some users have experienced faults with it’s cap screw preventing the pilot flame from transforming into a cutting arc, so may not be the best machine to use today especially now that this model has stopped in production. There will no doubt be limited support, not to mention finding the consumable parts to replace. In saying that, if you are just starting out, can find one at a cheap price and don’t really mind about the technology, then the choice is yours.
