Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that technology is not something that is easy to understand. It almost never is! That’s why we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions and we sincerely hope that this FAQ knowledge base will help people answer some of the questions that they might have regarding plasma cutters.
What is plasma?
A plasma can be defined as the “Fourth State Of matter”, the first 3 are solid, liquid and gas. It is a very unique matter which is derived from ionized gas that contains charged particles and is usually triggered by gases such as neon, argon, oxygen, xenon and krypton. To make things simple, let’s just think of plasma as a super charged or heated gas that has extremely high power.
What is plasma gouging?
This is a process of using plasma machine to blow away metal. It is commonly used to remove welding for a rework and normally requires a
different torch configuration and gas diffuser, but normally can be performed under one machine.
What is an arc?
An arc is the electrical conduction through a gas within an electric field.
What is welding?
Welding is the proess of joining materials together and is a term commonly used in the metal industry. It is normally done by melting the work piece and adding an extra bonding material to form a combined pool of liquid which becomes an extremely strong joint once cooled.
What is a nozzle?
A nozzle is a component of a device that is engineered to control the flow and direction of a fluid or gas. It is often designed to be pipe or tube shape and can be used to control the frequency of the air or gas flow including speed, pressure, direction, quantity, mass and so on.
What is CNC?
CNC stands for Computer Numerically Controlled and is often seen in large scale plasma cutting machinery, where accuracy, quality and efficiency are primary factors for mass production. This technology has help the industry enormously by providing computer controlled precision cutting and huge increase in productivity.
What is HVAC?
It stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. It is a system which is used to control the climate by regulating temperature and air flow. This creates a comfortable environment for occupants and different system units are required for different premises.
