Hypertherm PowerMax 1250
This is another amazing addition to the Powermax G3 series which comes with everything from the previous powermax 1000 plasma cutting system, except more power and accuracy. The only major difference between these plasma cutters would be the torch used as this version uses the T80 safety trigger torch and T80M mechanized torch for CNC plasma operations.
As with all Hypertherm powermax models, it comes with CNC robotic interface which allows automated control with the T80M torch and it’s highly regarded as one of the best in the industry in terms of cut performance, reliability and operator comfort.
Another feature we must mention is the advanced digital control inverter which is design to deliver continuous, but adjustable current output. In fact, it can deliver output from 25A to 80A, allowing high quality cuts over a wide range of metal thickness and it’s active electronic pilot arc control permits the cutter itself to cut expanded metal or even grating.
There is also no denying that Hypertherm build their products with safety in mind as their patented safety trigger protects the metal cutting machine from accidental starts and there is an interlock system in place to deactivate the torch whenever a consumable part is removed for any reasons. Regardless, power and performance is truly what stands out from the Powermax 1250 and this you can see this from the specs.

What do we think?
This was one of the very first Powermax G3 series that took the world by storm when it first came out. Unfortunately like all technology and especially electrical equipment, this plasma cutter has been replaced with the more advanced Hypertherm Powermax 85 which offers more power in a lighter design. In saying that, if you can get a used Powermax 1250 for a cheap price, it is still worth buying because it’s a really muscular machine which of course also comes with heavier components weighing total of 44kg.
