Hypertherm Powermax 1000
The Hypertherm Powermax 1000 is one of the latest addition to the powermax G3 series and is highly praised because of it’s superior cutting speed and capacity. This plasma cutter model comes with a new boost conditioner which compensates the circuit due to input voltage variations.

One of the most interesting aspect about this model is that Hypertherm claims that it uses consumables which has the longest life in the industry and you can’t really doubt them because this metal cutting system uses the T60 safety trigger torch and T60M torch for mechanized operations. They simply claim that their Hylife electrodes last longer than any standard designs. Along with their Easy Torch Removal (ETR) system, it makes changing torches a piece of cake!
When we say that the Powermax 1000 has excellent cutting speed, we really mean it! That’s because this version comes with the patented “Coaxial Assist” jet design which ultimately boosts it’s cutting speed by as much as 20% compare to other industrial standard models. Along with the new “Fan On Demand” feature, this particular plasma cutter is really built for heavy use, regardless how rough the condition of the workpieces are.

What do we think?
This is no doubt a really solid machine at a reasonable price that has served it’s purpose for many years. However, like anything technological, it will have it’s use by date and this machine has been replaced by the new Hypertherm Powermax 65 which uses a Duramax Torch. In saying that, this cutter is also suitable to use such torch making it a popular choice among second hand markets. So, if you’re looking to save money for great power, you really can’t look away from this.
